Leo's Story

Hi everycat!

As you know, I will be making my Thursday 13 tomorrow, and I is very very excited! A special guest will also be making a Thursday 13 on my bloggie tomorrow... I cannot tell you who it is just yet!

I wanted to make this special post because Mommie has been feeling a little bit sad this past week. See this Saturday, May 3rd, would be Leo the Lion's 10th purrthday. I fink many of you know that Leo is the Great Kitty who Came Before Me. She was looking through some old pictures last night and also came across Leo's story that she wrote so that she would never, ever forget.

Leo had Chronic Renal Failure. Everyone who is signed up for the Mewsletter will be able to read all about this common disease in the issue that comes out at Midnight tonight.

But Mommie wants to post Leo's story. She wonders if anyone else has dealt with a kitty who has CRF and what kind of treatments they were/are on. If you have time, you can read Leo's story here. Mommie finally feels ready to talk about it, but she doesn't know anyone else who has experienced this before. She figured the blogosphere was the best place to find someone to talk to.

Fanks,

Cecil

Thank You!

Hi Everycat and their Mommies!

Fanks so much for all of your kind words! Mommie and I feel so incredibly blessed to know all of you, and yes we really do feel like we know each of you. Fanks to all of my best friends in the CB and fanks to all of my friends who came out from lurking to e-mail me and Mommie.

Mommie had to take some time to decide what she was going to do. She really never ever ever wanted to stop helping me blog, and she didn't know how she would stop reading your blogs!

So we will continue being a part of your world!!! Fanks to everyone soooo much for helping me change Mommie's mind! All day yesterday when she looked at me she saw all of your faces. What did everyone do for Fashion Friday or Formally Feral Friday? We was very sad not to know.

So this is what we has decided for now: we will blog every week for Thursday Thirteen and will tell 13 things I has done during the week! We will also make a effort to visit all of your blogs as often as possible, without certain people noticing ;)

Kisses, kisses...

And many more kisses, purrs, and headbutts to all of you!

I gave Mommie the laser eyes for thinking she could stop me from blogging!

I fink you can see that my face is not happy at all at Mommie's behavior.

Don't forget about me on Thursdays,

Cecil the Cougar

Goodbye.

Hi Everyone,

This is my last post.

I am really sorry to leave the cat blogosphere behind. I have been truly inspired by your generosity towards each other, and I feel blessed to have been a part of this for the past couple months.

I have enjoyed reading all of your posts and will miss blogging tremendously. It has been a very fun past couple of months. I feel like I know all of you and your "mommies." The internet has a great ability to bring people with common interests together. Sometimes I feel like I have more in common with each of you, then some of the people in my real life... it's so true that only other cat-people can understand each other.

I will still be running Feline Direct and still sending out the Mewsletter. Unfortunately the personality of Cecil the Cougar is going away. There are people in my life who do not understand this hobby... I am not sure how I will go about continuing Phi Theta Gatos. I will have to speak to Crystal (Moki's mom regarding it). I will not let it disappear, but it may have to undergo some changes.

I will miss you all and be constantly wondering how you are doing.

So here is my tearful goodbye,

Kristina (Cecil's human mom)

If you need to get in touch with me regarding Feline Direct or Phi Theta Gatos please feel free to email me at kristina@felinedirect.com .

PS: A special thank you to Daisy the Curly Cat and her Mommie for introducing me to all of you. It has been a sincere pleasure.

Circle, Circle
Dot, Dot
Now you have your Cooties shot.

Thankful Thursday: Mommie and Me Time

I am very thankful for having a green blanket and a warm lap.

Can you see that Mommie and my paws are touching!

I am smiling pretty big.

PS: I have asked Mommie if I can get the Cooties vaccine so that I can have a speshul girlcat friend!

Mommy decided she was too tired to make dinner tonight...

So she decided to go get some delishus Chart Hut.

She gotted herself a chick-hen pita.

But....

:::sniff sniff:::

Well, one thing led to another....

::lick lick::

Mine!

The Smell of YUM!

NOM NOM NOM!

Go Away Mommie, I has a fully tummy and wants to take a nap now!

Why Own a Cat?

When it comes to The Cat, there's a danger you know.
You can't own just one, for the craving will grow.
There's no doubt they're addictive, wherein lies the danger
While living with lots, you'll grow poorer and stranger

One cat is no trouble, and two are so funny,
The third one is easy, the fourth one's a honey
The fifth is delightful, the sixth one's a breeze.
You find you can live with a houseful, with ease.

So how 'bout another? Would you really dare?
They're really quite easy, but Oh Lord, the hair!
With cats on the sofa and cats on the bed,
And crates in the kitchen, its no bother, you said.

They're really no trouble, their manners are great.
What's just one more cat and one more crate?
The sofa is hairy, the windows are crusty.
The floor is all footprints, the furniture's dusty.

The housekeeping suffers, but what do you care?
Who minds a few nose prints and a little more hair?
So let's keep a kitten, you can always find room.
And a little more time for the dust cloth and broom.

There's hardly a limit to the cats you can add
The thought of a cutback, sure makes you sad.
Each one is special, so useful, so funny,
The food bill grows larger, you owe the vet money.

Your folks never visit, few friends come to stay,
Except other cat folks, who live the same way.
Your lawn has now died and your shrubs are dead, too.
Your weekends are busy, you're off with your crew.

There's cat food and vitamins, grooming and shots
And litter and toys and more which cost lots.
Is it worth it you wonder? Are you caught in a trap?
Then your favorite comes up and climbs in your lap.

His look says you're special and you know that you will
Keep all of the kittens in spite of the bill.
Late evening is awful, you scream and you shout
At the cats on the sofa, who refuse to get up.

The whole thing seems worth it, the cats are your life.
They're charming and funny and offset the strife.
Your lifestyle has changed, things just won't be the same.
Yes, those cats are addictive and so's the cat game!

New picture post tomorrow.

Sorry guys, Mommie has a rhetorical thesis due at 8am.

She is sort of a procrastinator, so she has to do it all today/tonight.

PS: Mommie stumbled upon this website for Toronto Veterinary care. It looks very promising. If you are looking for a Toronto Veterinarian I think this website will be very helpful. The website will be able to direct you to the proper people at the Toronto Veterinary Hospital and the best Toronto Vets! Have a look!*

Sleepy Sunday:

Keeping my harness nearby and dreaming about going for a walk...

Me as a tiny babycat sleeping:

It has always been a favorite hobby.

Who will come join me for a catnap since I do not have any brothers or sisters?

Hi Mommie up there!

I am not really a lap cat at all...

But sometimes it is nice to be cozy like a bug in a rug.

The lap is the perfect spot to play with the camera strap!

It is always a good idea to throw a protective paw over your Mommie.

You never know what is lurking in the couch!

Happy Friday!

Thankful Thursday:

I has only been a part of the blogosphere for a couple months now, but I am so amazed at how close everyone is. What Cat Friends Helping Friends is doing is wonderful, and is inspired by all of you who came to each others rescue; came to the aid of a stranger whose face you only recognize as a tabby cat or a tuxie or a ginger, a meezer or even a curly cat. I am so fankful to be a part of this, because the world is going crazy but because of the cat blogosphere Mommie and I know there are still lots of selfless people left.

(I fink maybe you can tell Mommie wrote a lot of that paragraph, but I agree!)

I would like to especially fank all the cats who has joined Phi Theta Gatos!

Fanks everyone on the Funny Farm, our first girl and boy members!
You each has a special place in the group!

Fanks Emil and Karl, our two coolest cats!
"I wear my sunglasses at night, meow meow!"

Fanks Daisy MaeMaus, first solo girlcat to join!

Fanks Karen Jo, our Honorary-Cat member!

Fanks to Perfectly Parker for being our most perfect member!

(*I fink you can maybe see that Mommie is trying out a couple different badge ideas to figure out the best look.)

Who will join next? All proceeds go directly to Moki. Phi Theta Gatos would like to hold our first contest but we do not has enough members yet. Mommie boughted the prize today... so peas join!

And now here is a poem that I wrote for all my furriends:

Cecil's Fankful Poem:

I'm fankful for the food in my tummy
especially the Temptations cause they're yummy.
I'm fankful for a roof over my head,
but why can't I sleep in the People bed?
I'd like to take Daddy's place
and purr all night in Mommie's face.
I am fankful for my favorite toy;
I am fankful for being a boy.
I would not like a girl to kiss,
cooties make me want to hiss!
I'm fankful for every furriend,
Best furriends until the very end!

Until tomorrow,

Cecil

I'M BAAACCCKKK!

Has you missed me? I has missed everyone very much! So much has gone on since last Thursday! I was so scairt and then relieved to hear about Mom Laura and the kitties!

So you may be wondering what I has been up to during this M.I.A. session Mommie made me go through. Well, firstly you should know that I did everyfing I could to try to post. I even asked Daddy's help, but he is not so much into this "cat blogging deal that you and your Mommie are into."

Here I am on Daddy's chair, asking nicely:

"Peas help me blog, I am so sad and pathetic without my furriends!"

No luck.

So then I resorted to just moping around for a couple days. Then I thought of a plan!

If I steals Mommie's Starbucks and sit on her papers she will haf to help me blog! How can she do school stuffs with no caffine and no papers?! I was finking that I was a genius and this is why I do not have to go to schools...

But then I look over .....

And what do I see?
Mommie has many more papers and big books over there.

After another day of hard contemplation, I came up with a new plan! I will go INSIDE the computer itself, find where the innernets hide in it and blog myself!

So I made my way inside of the computer, but I could not find the innernets.

I did find that the computer has a couch inside of it though!

None of my plans worked out too well. I wish I could have called up my furriend Boy, because he is a Genius and I bet he could have thought of a good plan. But I do not know how to use the fellytone.

So I am really hoping that you all have not forgotted me, or hate me because I has not been visiting you. I really, really wanted to!! Maybe, if you is not mad at me, we can play a quick game of Eskimo together?

Here is the fridge! Hop in!

I fink it is a big enough one for many Cat-Eskimos!

Oh and I must give a BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG fank you to Maggie, Zoey and their Mommie Ann for making my dreams come true!

I is giving Mickey the BIG bitey and bunny-kicking Minnie!

I is not sure why these big mouses are still smiling...

Well everyone, I promises to get caught up on your bloggies today, right Mommie?!!!!!

Until tomorrow,

Cecil

Mommie has been kidnapped by the Busy Monster. It is really bad. But she says she will make time to help me post tonight. Promises.

I has missed you all, and has not been around visiting. Promises to get catched up tomorrow!

Peas don't hate me, it is Mommie's fault. But don't hate her either, she is only human! (too bad for her really).

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen fings about me, Cecil:

  1. I was born on August 28, 2007. This means that I is now 7 whole months old!

    HEY YOU!

Don't I look very big and mancatly for my age?

  2. I really love to give the big bitey to Mommie's bras.

I gets them out of the laundry and drag them all over the house!

Mommie gets embarrassed when visitors see me chomping on them!

  3. Daddy gave me the nickname, "Your Cat." He usually uses this nickname to refer to me when I do something naughty. For instance he says to Mommie, "Your Cat chewed a hole in my new shirt." or "Your Cat took a stinky poopie" (he uses more colorful words that I am not allowed to say) or "Look at what Your Cat broke!"

  4. Mommie wrote a poem about me. It goes like this:
"Cecil Wecil pudding pie kissed the girls and made them cry!"

I am not sure what girls Mommie finks I has kissed though, because that is gross! COOTIES!

The only girl I pucker up for like this is Mommie cause she gives the Temptations!

Sometimes I even gets a bit shy visiting girl bloggies like Daisy, Parker, SophieKitty and all my other girl cat furriends

  5. I has excellent teefs and use them to give the Big Bitey a lot to Mommie and Daddy.

  6. Sometimes if Mommie walks past my litter box when I am pooping, I will run out to play with her even if I am not done. Then I drag my butt along the tile floor until I get to her.

  7. I talk to Mommie and Daddy a lot. Mommie says this is because my Grandma-cat is a Meezer.

  8. I has very nice stripes, I fink you will agree.

  9. I has only hissed one time in my whole entire life. This was at the groomers when they viciously clipped my nails while telling me I was a nice kitty. I showed them!

  10. My best friend is a penguin named Mr. Penguin. I call him Penguin when i am mad at him.

  11. I do not have any brothers and sisters.

  12. I really like to go inside the refrigerator and pretend I am an Eskimo.

  13. It is my dream to go to Disney World and meet the Giant Mousie! I would like to give him my Super Duper Big Mancat Cecil Bitey!

Fank you for reading my Thursday Thirteen!

Until tomorrow,

Cecil

Book Report

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

Good Morning!

Today Nermal has tagged me for a meme. Fanks Nermal, I fink that I was the last kitty in the blogosphere who has not been tagged for this great meme yet! I am glad to be joining the distinguished Literate Kitty group.

So there is two books very close to me: The Power Elite and The Complete Encyclopedia of Cats. I am wondering which one would be more interesting to post from. It is a very hard decision.

...NOT!

Of course I will post from The Complete Encyclopedia of Cats!

Lets see here, these are the rules:
  1. Pick up the nearest book.
  2. Open to page 123
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the next three sentences.
  5. Tag five people and post a comment to Mickey once you have posted it.

Um..Hey Mommie over there! Can you come help me with the big words peas.

Right here...start with sentence 5 peas...

"Female cats commonly suffer from tumors of the mammary glands. Females that have often been in season, but have not often been covered, or who have had the cat's "pill" for a long time, or irregularity, run a greater risk of of forming mammary tumors. Females that have been spayed are hardly ever affected. "
Now I am hoping that all my girl friends (not girlfriends..yuck! cooties!) have had things taken care of down there, because I do not want them to get tumors!

Mommie just gave a speech on the importance of Spay/Neuter yesterday, and so we is hoping that anyone who has not yet had their hoo-haa-ectamy's done yet will go soon! It is really not bad. I did not even notice! I still am not noticing.

Do you see anyfing missing?

"Spay/Neuter makes you cuter!"

I would like to tag anycat or bean or woofie who has not yet done the meme.

Until tomorrow,

Cecil

I won an award!!! Daisy the Curly Cat has given me the Absolutely Pawesome Award created by DaisyMae Maus and the Feline Americans. Fanks so much Daisy! I am so honored!

I would like to pass this award onto Perfectly Parker because she is so perfect at being Parker and Mommie and I love reading her bloggie. I would also love to pass it onto my buddy Moki because you can read on his awesome-pawesome bloggie how he is bravely taking his Baytril even though he doesn't like it!

....

Hi Mommie!

What do you mean that you fink I need to get up off my favorite napping spot and get to some reporting?! I has just won an award, that means that I gets to bask in my glory for a day!

What did you just say to me, King Cecil?!

Well you know what I fink YOU should do Mommie?

Bow down and kiss all four of my totally awesome-pawesome paws!

(I am not being too conceited here, Mommie actually likes to kiss
my paws!)

I do what I want, fank you very much. I am the Stripey One!

Until tomorrow,
